10. Lion Air plane crash forces Boeing to explain
On 29 October 2018, a new Boeing 737 MAX MAX from Indonesian airline Lion Air crashed into the Java Sea 10 minutes after takeoff, killing its 189 passengers and crew members. An incorrect calibration of a speed detector during maintenance would cause the Boeing 737 MAX 8 to fall. Boeing wanted to provide software updates.

9. The Airbus A330-800 makes its first flight
On November 6, the Airbus A330-800 neo made its first flight from Toulouse. This is the shortest version of the A330 neo. TAP Portugal has become the launch company for the aircraft.

8. The attempt to bring Icelandair and Wow Air closer together
Icelandair announced on November 29 that it had cancelled the acquisition agreement entered into on November 5 with the low-cost airline.

7. Amazon Air continues to grow and orders 10 Boeing 767s
This new cargo company, launched by Amazon, intends to compete with the giants FedEx and UPS. It has a total of 50 aircraft to operate and is expected to open a huge hub at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport in 2021.

6. China, the next world's largest air market
According to some forecasts, 800 million additional passengers are expected to enter the air market by 2035. Chinese airlines are expected to purchase 6,000 new aircraft by 2035.

5. A $13.3 billion airport abandoned
The new Mexico City airport, currently under construction, should never open. This is the result of a consultation requested by the new Mexican President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador last October. The latter wishes to cancel the project, built at 32%, estimated at $13.3 billion in total.

A Japan Airlines co-pilot was spotted drunk on October 28 by a bus driver at London Heathrow Airport on his way to his Boeing 777-300ER bound for Tokyo Haneda.

2. London Gatwick Airport completely paralyzed by drones
This is a recent event that has toured the world. On the night of Wednesday 19 to Thursday 20 December, the 2nd busiest airport in the United Kingdom was completely closed. Several thousand passengers were affected.

1. Norwegian to conquer the world
The Norwegian low-cost airline has continued to expand worldwide, with the inauguration of new routes and its arrival in South America.
