Increasing demand from airlines
To meet this growing demand, Chinese airlines are expanding their fleet of new aircraft. The company China Southern Airlines has recently placed an order for twenty long-haul A350-900, the newest of Airbus, for $ 6.2 billion. In October and November 2018, Hainan Airlines and China Eastern also receive their first copy of the long haul.
Competition between Airbus, Boeing and Comac
According to Airbus forecasts, Chinese airlines are expected to be the largest aircraft buyers by 2035, with 6,000 new aircraft.

Comac, the Chinese aerospace manufacturer, plans to take advantage of the opportunity for such a development. Called C919, Comac markets a medium-haul aircraft capable of carrying 168 passengers over 5,500 km. This aircraft made its first flight on Friday, May 5, 2017. On February 27, 2018, the C919 program recorded 815 orders from 28 customers (firm orders and call options).
