Embraer delivers its 1500th jet

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer celebrated the delivery of its 1500th business jet, a Phenom 300E, to a business jet operator in Switzerland.

The aircraft delivered is an Embraer Phenom 300E. The Swiss company Haute Aviation owns a PC-12 and a Global Express.

Certified as a single-pilot aircraft, it falls into the light jet category. It can carry 8 people (11 as an option). The 300E version is the update brought in 2020 with new, more powerful PW535-E1 engines and improved avionics, including the Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS) to prevent and avoid runway overruns during landing. 50 aircraft were delivered in 2020.

Embraer Executive Jets is the company's subsidiary based in Sao Paulo. Founded in 2002, the company has developed in competition with the Canadian company Bombardier. Embraer offers the Legacy 600 as a competitor to the Bombardier Challenger 600 series. The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer's 1,000th private jet was a Legacy 500 delivered in 2016 in the United States.

In total, Embraer has more than 950 customers operating its business jets in over 80 countries. Its business jet unit has grown at an annual rate of 22 percent since the delivery of its first business jet in 2002. The company estimates that one in four light and medium business jet deliveries is an Embraer Phenom or Praetor.

In just 20 years, Embraer has developed a range of business jets. This success is to be compared with commercial passenger aircraft, including the "profit hunter" with the Embraer 190-E2, which are struggling to convince new customers.
