The Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral on fire

The terrible fire that hit the cathedral on Monday was seen from the sky, as shown in this photo taken through an airplane window. We can see the smoke that has risen in the sky of the capital. A controversy had also arisen over the use of Canadair. However, it proved impossible to drop several tons of water on a fragile structure in the middle of a city.

Jet Airways temporarily suspends all flights.

The second largest Indian airline decided to suspend all its operations on 17 April 2019. The company is facing major financial difficulties, which forced it to first cease these international routes on April 12. This temporary suspension appears to be a permanent bankruptcy.

The Paris Orly 3 terminal inaugurated

This is an important event for Paris Airport, which has launched a major modernisation plan for its Orly platform. The names of the terminals were first changed: the terminals are now numbered from 1 to 4. Then, a new building, Terminal 3, was inaugurated. This one connects the two former Orly West and Orly South terminals. Inside, there are more automatic check-in kiosks, a larger control area to speed up formalities, and a new baggage sorting system. The following companies serve Terminal 3: Transavia, Air Corsica, British Airways, Level, Pegasus and Air France. Ultimately, Orly should welcome a new train station of the Grand Paris Express transport network by 2024.
