This one represents a turtle, a symbol of luck and prosperity in Hawaii. The winner won a Tokyo-Honolulu round trip in business class and other candidates received different gifts. Thus, the 3 A380s will be turtles, blue for the first one, and red then green for the other two.

A gigantic work

To paint an aircraft as big as an Airbus A380, you need a lot of paint. So 3,300 litres of paint were used to cover the 3,600 m2. In order to paint different details, the painters used 16 different shades.  In the photograph below, we can see white and blue for the aircraft's drift. It took 21 days for the 120 people mobilized for the painting.

In addition to operating this A380 to Hawaii, ANA is committed to supporting the protection of the Hawaiian Green Turtle, which is an endangered species. The A380 is expected to be delivered soon for commissioning in spring 2019.
