The Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport (InSight) was made by LockheedMartin. It is a lander, with different payload instruments. It was launched on 5 May 2018 and landed on Mars on 26 November 2018. The InSight station is equipped with two main instruments designed in Europe: the SEIS broadband seismometer and the HP3 thermometer, whose probe will descend to a depth of 5 meters to measure the heat flow that escapes from the planet. Thanks to them, scientists hope to finally be able to determine whether Mars' nucleus is solid or liquid and understand why it does not have an active tectonic like on Earth or how the planet has lost its magnetic field.
